Ortovox Avabag LiTRIC Zero 27 – Black Raven

The Ortovox Avabag LiTRIC Zero 27 is a minimalist avalanche airbag backpack made for ski tourers wanting to move fast and light without compromising safety. Built around LiTRIC, Ortovox’s electronic airbag system is lightweight, reliable, and simple to operate. The LiTRIC electronic airbag system is powered by a combination of supercapacitors and a lithium-ion battery. Together, they ensure reliable operation down to -40°C without a drop in performance. The unit takes around 25 minutes to charge via USB-C: one charge enables at least two airbag activations. Intuitive to use, LiTRIC makes it easy to practise and get crucial familiarisation with the airbag system before you head into the mountains. To trigger the airbag, you pull the deployment handle; you can turn the handle 180° to block the system for protection against false activation. A radial high-performance compressor with an axial diffusor fills the airbag in four seconds. The airbag has a 150-litre capacity, made from pliable two-layer fabric that’s quick to repack into the pocket – no complicated folding necessary. With a 27-litre capacity, the Avabag LiTRIC Zero 27 is best suited to day tours. The main compartment includes storage for your avalanche safety kit, with a bright fabric lining making it easier to spot your gear. Use the front zipped pocket to stash a map, keys, and other small items. External ski, helmet, and ice axe straps ensure you can carry the essentials. Side compression straps help create a more streamlined, stable load. The back panel features targeted cushioning alongside lightweight shoulder and hip belt straps, ensuring a comfortable carry that doesn’t compromise the minimalist ethos.
