It has now been most of the way around the world with me, it’s a do everything jacket. Whether I’m doing multi-day treks or exploring new cities, it’s great at everything. I’m 6’5, 210lbs, and athletically built. It’s cut perfectly in the shoulders, chest and body that magically allows full range of motion while still looking almost tailored. I have finally found a jacket with perfect length sleeves (long sleeves, but not even close to being too long). The articulation is great, it has a decent hood that doesn’t get in the way, and there is a thoughtful layout to the pockets. G-1000 Fabric is light and comfortable, it moves with you. Long sleeves give your arms freedom of movement even while wearing a backpack. I can raise my arms overhead quite comfortably. This comfort extends to driving/holding onto steering wheel and holding on to reins while riding a horse. The fit is so perfect that it fits very well with either my base layer(s) only (a merino t-shirt usually under a close-fitting full-zip), but fits no less well when I add additional sweater and vest layers – no bunching up in the pits, shoulders, or chest.
